The Ontario bar exams are a series of tests that individuals must pass in order to become licensed lawyers in Ontario, Canada. The exams are administered by the Law Society of Ontario (LSO), the governing body for lawyers in the province.

There are two components to the Ontario bar exams: the Barrister Exam and the Solicitor Exam. The Barrister Exam tests an individual's knowledge of litigation, while the Solicitor Exam tests knowledge of transactional and business law.

The Barrister Exam is a 4.5 hour multiple-choice exam. The multiple-choice exam tests a range of topics, including civil litigation, criminal law, family law, administrative law, and ethics and professionalism. The Solicitor Exam also a same length mutli-choice exam which tests a range of topics, including business law, real estate law, wills and estates, ethics and professionalism, and taxation. The written exam requires test-takers to respond to a series of fact scenarios and demonstrate their knowledge of legal analysis and writing skills.

To pass the Ontario bar exams, test-takers must achieve a minimum score on each component of the exams. The exams are generally administered thrice a year click here to find the updated schedule. Candidates are allowed to take the exams three times in the licenseing period of 2 years, but there are limits on the number of attempts and timeframes for completion.
